Job Description:

Secure Base Counseling Center is looking for a qualified Medical Assistant for their growing Psychiatric Department. This individual will be able to offer collaborative care on a team of mental health professionals including therapists, Psychiatrists and other providers. A candidate will be a client centered team player, with excellent communication and organizational skills.

The pay for this position starts at $33,000 annually for full time employment. This position includes paid vacation, health insurance and a supportive work environment.

Medical Assistant Job Duties include:

Verifying patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.

Preparing patients for examination by performing vital signs; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.

Saving psychiatrist's time by helping with office procedures such as calling in prescriptions.

Securing patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.

Counseling patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about treatment.

Scheduling appointments by making arrangements with the center; verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admission and consent forms.

Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Keeping supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

Keeping equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

Serving and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

Enhancing practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
