Job Description:

Our Children's Day Treatment program is searching for a Mental Health Therapist to join our team. Our program works with children and adolescents ages 5-18 who have a mental health diagnosis and severe emotional and behavioral disturbances. We work in the milieu and 1:1 and get to see positive changes every day. This position is for the elementary team meaning you'll be working with kids from the ages 5-11. Typical hours for the position will be Monday Friday, 7:30 4:00pm.

The Mental Health Therapist position is an entry level role for a new therapist. There will be a blend of therapy and social skills work with the children in our program and this position will start with a small case load to build skills. The social skills work will include leading daily skills groups. Duties will include:
Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with children, parents and other family members
Assess needs of clients; develop and implement treatment plans and regularly evaluate effectiveness of these plans
Actively participating in skill building activities and developing positive relationships with clients
Ensuring safe and responsible behavior of the clients by using verbal redirection, proximity management, and positive encouragement
Provide individual, group and family therapy with children and their families
Providing behavior management support to clients
Performing physical restraints or holds of clients as necessary
Completing clinical documentation
Maintain regular communication with family, school, and other providers
Perform diagnostic assessments/evaluations, develop treatment plans and perform case reviews
Develop and maintain all required charting for clients, including intakes and discharge summaries, and treatment plans

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy
Previous experience providing individual, group and/or family therapy
Previous experience with children or adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral disturbances and their families

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of CTSS standards
Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively with collateral agencies
