Job Description:

PROGRAM SUMMARY: The Mental Health Skills Training (MHST) program at St. Davidís Center supports and treats children between the ages of 4 and 18 with various mental health diagnoses who experience moderate to high behaviors. Staff members work with clients on individualized treatment goals that focus on their unique emotional and behavioral needs. POSITION OVERVIEW: St. Davidís Center is hiring part-time Mental Health Practitioners to work one-on-one with a child or adolescent with a mental health diagnosis such as anxiety, depression, ASD, ODD, RAD, OCD, and more. The majority of clients that we serve are located within the Twin Cities metro. Responsibilities include: - Implementing interventions and strategies aimed at improving the clientsí social, emotional, and behavioral functioning within their home and community environments - Working on treatment goals such as improved self-regulation, problem solving, coping strategies and social skills - Collaborating with parents/guardians to identify ways to reinforce new behaviors - Aiding clients in generalizing the skills they are working on in-home into their school and community settings, which may include taking clients into the community to practice skills - Writing diagnostic assessments and conducting individual and family psychotherapy, family psychoeducation and clinical care consultation on childrenís mental health* This position offers: - Opportunity for LICSW, LPCC, LMFT licensure supervision - Flexible, part-time scheduling - Career growth and development of your professional identity SCHEDULE: 5-10 hours per week, depending on availability. Available hours are primarily between the hours of 2-8 pm on weekdays plus weekends. PAY: DOQ. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: - A Masterís degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling, psychology, or a related degree from an accredited college/university. LGSW is required for MSW applicants. - Candidates with a Bachelorís degree in a related field and 2,000 hours of related experience can also be considered, with proof of the hours. - Training and experience working with children - Must have a valid driverís license, reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record - Knowledge of: the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM); child development, and interventions appropriate to providing clinical services to children with mental health diagnoses - Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills - Ability to de-escalate crisis situations, assess client needs and develop strategies to support those needs - Ability to communicate and participate in a team environment PREFERRED: - Experience in the treatment of emotional and behavioral disturbances *MA level candidates only.
