Job Description:

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.

Required Qualifications:
AAS Degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent and physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:
Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) and animal anatomy experience/interest

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Job Duties (training provided}:
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment and assuring gross anatomy facilities and equipment are in proper working order.
Specimen preparation will include embalming and latex injection. Permanent specimen preparation will include dissection, plastination, freeze drying and vascular injection techniques.
Being available to answer student questions in all scheduled gross anatomy labs and whenever possible during unscheduled review sessions. Performing prosections for each anatomy lab period.
Assisting faculty with setup, proctor, , teardown and grading of examinations and assisting in preparation and dissemination of teaching materials.
Checking specimens out and in when loans are requested. Assisting students with specimen preparation projects.
Additional duties during times when classes are not in session (e.g., summer) include bone box inventories for veterinary anatomy courses, freezer inventories to establish stock and needs for teaching, permanent specimen preparations for use in teaching and lab facilities organization.
***This position is represented by a bargaining unit, AFSCME Technical. Dues or fair share deductions will be made.***

Salary Range: $31,491.20 to $43,451.20 USD/year

The Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences Department educates students in the biomedical sciences; discovers new knowledge about animal and human health and disease through scientific research; translates new knowledge into useful applications; and communicates knowledge to health professionals, animal producers, industry, and scientists.
