Job Description:
Support Specialist About DVMcenter and MN Pets Established in 2016, DVMcenter is an innovative, interdisciplinary team that provides supportive and compassionate services for clients who are facing end-of-life decisions for their pets. DVMcenter serves MN Pets (founded in 2010), which is our own practice that provides end of life veterinary care for pets in the Twin Cities. DVMcenter also provides support services for mobile end-of-life practitioners around the country, working with their clients and assisting them with their practice. Our mission is to compassionately and effectively support pet owners and the veterinarians who serve them. We are currently looking for our next motivated support specialist to help build our services and grow with our company. Primary Responsibilities of the support specialist Communicate with clients and DVMcenter member veterinarians via phone and email Support clients in navigating end-of-life decisions for their pets, provide support before and after the appointment Schedule and coordinate visit logistics for clients, veterinarians, transporters and referring clinics Assist with office operations including medical supply inventory, blog/social media content, independent projects and new initiatives Requirements: - Self-starter with the ability to work effectively on a team to collaborate and problem-solve - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail - Demonstrated empathy, patience and compassion while speaking with emotional clients - Basic understanding of end-of-life veterinary care or a strong motivation to learn - Good working knowledge of PCs, Microsoft Word and Excel, and proficiency in computer file management - HS diploma required, experience or degree in related field is preferable. Related fields may include counseling, veterinary roles, program management, administration, social work, case management and client services.
